New Build Part L NZEB Reports and guidance

All new buildings in Ireland must comply with current building regulations. The part of the building regulations that deal with energy efficiency is Technical Guidance Document Part L – Conservation of Fuel and Energy. This document was updated in 2019 to NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings). All new dwellings must now comply with this standard. New extensions must comply with the “Existing Dwellings” part of this document. Major Retrofits must comply with the “Major Retrofit” section of this document as well.

We offer comprehensive service with regard to the above.

New dwellings will require an analysis of the plans pre works and a provisional BER Certificate and a Part L compliance report which will detail the various items within TGD NZEB Part L that the dwelling must comply with. We will also provide a dwelling report and dwelling specification document which details the dwelling specification used in ensuring compliance with NZEB Part L.

We carry out similar assessments for dwelling extensions and/or major retrofits.The extension part of the project must comply with the “Existing Dwelling” part of TGD NZEB Part L and our assessment will determine if the project is a major renovation. Major Renovation means the renovation of a dwelling where more than 25% of the surface of the dwelling envelope undergoes renovation.
